Digital Education at Brookes develops the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment and assists all academic staff in integrating technology enhanced learning into their learning, teaching and assessment practice. We also provide centralised support for all Brookes staff with digital tools such as Moodle, Feedback Studio by Turnitin, the Panopto Video Library, Adobe Express, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Firefly, Alternative Formats Ally and Zoom.
The Digital Skills team offers the following training options:
- Drop-in sessions can be booked when slots are posted and can cover any Digital Educaton theme, subject, tool or for resource creation (slots are available during term time only).
- Induction training sessions for Moodle, Panopto, Digital Accessibility/Adobe Acrobat and Zoom (sessions are available for the first three weeks of each term).
- Accessibility Amnesty Sessions are one-to-one support sessions with a member of the digital accessibility team and include remediation support for files and resources; and advice for creating documents, presentations, Moodle courses, videos, multimedia, emails and more (slots are available during term time only).
- Bespoke group sessions on any Digital Education theme, subject, tool, or for resource creation can be requested for your team, subject, programme or other group by emailing us at digitaleducation@brookes.ac.uk.
Book a drop-in session
- Topics: any Digital Educaton theme, subject, tool or for resource creation
- Availability: individuals and small groups can book slots during term time.
- Location: primarily online, but live/face-to-face sessions can be requested when you book your slot in the comments.
- How to book: we manage all of our bookings with the Scheduler activity in Moodle.
To book your place:
- Go to our form in Moodle.
- Log in with your p number and Brookes password (if you are not already logged in).
- Click Enrol me.
- Scroll down to the section Drop-in Sessions for all staff (Booking Required)
- Select the link for the current year (link in pink).
- Click Book slot (on the right) to book the respective 30-minute slot (on the left). Book as many slots as you need.
Book Induction training sessions
- Topics:
- Moodle Induction: how to navigate Moodle, add content and manage course content.
- Moodle Refreshers: organising your Moodle content and setting up assignments, assessments and groups
- Panopto Video Library: how to record and share a session and Best Practice.
- Digital Accessibility: how to get started with creating digitally accessible content, including remediating files using Adobe Acrobat and Alternative Formats Ally.
- Availability: individuals can book slots in the sessions held during the first 3 weeks of each term.
- Location: online (note: some sessions will be recorded and made available for review).
- How to book: we manage all of our bookings with the Scheduler activity in Moodle.

Book Accessibility Amnesty sessions

Request group training
Bespoke group sessions can be adapted to suit participants at any experience level, and can cover most aspects of our supported tools.
