How do I hide an activity but still allow students to access it via a link?

By default, every activity you create in Moodle appears on the course homepage.

If you would prefer students to access an activity only through a link (for example, from the module handbook, or another page in Moodle), you can hide the activity from the course homepage while keeping it available to students.

1. On your course homepage, turn editing on.
2. Locate the activity you want to hide.
3. To the right of the activity title, click Edit
4. Select Availability > Make available but don’t show on course page.

The activity will now be labelled Available but not shown on course page.

To create a link to the activity:

1. Right-click the activity title and select Copy link address (or the equivalent option in your browser).
2. Paste the link wherever you would like students to access the activity, such as a module handbook, or Moodle page.
