In order to be a moderator on a course, the moderator needs to already have a teaching role on the course and should then be given an additional role of ‘Coursework Internal Moderator‘ via the ‘Participants’ screen of your course.
If the moderator is not enrolled with a teaching role on the course
- In the contextual navigation on the course page, click ‘Participants‘.
- Click the pink ‘Enrol users‘ button.
- In ‘Select users’, use the dropdown menu to start typing the moderator’s name.
- In ‘Assign role’ choose ‘Co-teacher‘ first from the dropdown menu.
- You do not have to change any other setting.
- Click ‘Enrol selected users and cohorts‘ to enrol them as a co-teacher.
- Follow steps 2-5 in the section below
If the moderator is already enrolled with a teaching role on the course
- In the contextual navigation on the course page, click ‘Participants‘.
- Under ‘Enrolled users’, locate the moderator by name.
- In the ‘Roles’ column click the pencil icon beside their current role.
- Type ‘Coursework Internal Moderator‘ in the text box and select the role.
- Click on the save icon above the role you’ve added to confirm the changes.
