How do I set up the Grid course format?

The Grid format is a course format that organises your course into a visual modular format. The course format has a dashboard style grid of icons that link to individual course sections. Clicking on the image will open the corresponding topic.

How do I change the course format?

Once you are in your course homepage:

  1. Click on the cog wheel to access Settings (top right).
  2. Click Edit Settings.
  3. Click Expand all from the top right.
  4. Scroll down to find the Course Format section.
  5. Click the drop-down menu next to Format (first option) to reveal the available course formats and choose Grid format.
  6. Scroll down and click Save and display.

How do I customise the Grid format?

Once you are in Course settings:

  1. Scroll down to find the Course Format section.
  2. You can add new sections by changing the Number of sections (second option).
  3. Scroll down to the final option Section 0 on its own page when out of the grid and on a single section page and set it to Yes. (This will ensure that there is a section 0 outside of the icon grid to include your Evaluations and the Zoom and Panopto LTIs.)
  4. Scroll down and click Save and display.
